  • Finding your perfect dress is a deeply personal experience. For some brides, the connection is immediate, leading to a decision during their very first appointment. For others, the process is more considered and takes time. No two brides are the same, and we are dedicated to working closely with your individual vision to help you discover the gown of your dreams, whenever that may be.

    When it comes to timing, preparation is key. We typically recommend allowing 6-8 months for your gown to be ordered, and delivered, we also recommend allowing and extra 2-3 months for alterations for your dress to be perfect in time for your wedding day. However, if your timeline is shorter, please don't worry. We will work with you proactively to explore all possible options, including rush orders from designers or finding the perfect 'off-the-peg' sample dress that is ready to go.

    Conversely, shopping too early can present its own challenges. We advise against starting your gown search more than 12 months in advance unless you are fully prepared to commit to a purchase. You risk falling in love with a style that may be discontinued by the time you are ready to buy. Ultimately, once you have chosen your dress, you may find that this key decision helps define and inspire the other beautiful details of your wedding.

  • Absolutely nothing but yourself is the official answer!

    We provide a selection of accessories and heels for you to try with each gown.

    To get the best feel for the fit, we recommend nude underwear. While most gowns feature built-in support, wearing a bra is perfectly fine, your comfort is our priority.

    If you have any meaningful items you plan to wear, such as a family veil or tiara, please feel free to bring them along to try with the dresses.

    Finally, if you know you want an up-do on your wedding day, coming with your hair pinned up can help you visualise your final, complete bridal look.

  • Your wedding location whether it's a grand castle, an elegant stately home, a chic hotel, or a stunning beach is often the biggest influence on your gown style.

    We encourage you to bring photos or share your Pinterest boards with us; this helps our stylists fully understand your overall vision. While we love guiding you toward styles you adore, we also encourage trying our 'wildcards.' You might find yourself falling in love with a silhouette that wasn't initially "on your list," proving that the perfect dress can sometimes be an unexpected one!

    We often get clients going for the opposite of what they imagined with a little help from us, as sometimes the dresses with no hanger appeal look the best on. Trust us - we’ve seen them and have faith in our experience styling our lovely brides, whether you need a little help or know what you love but every bride is different and the key is that you feel like you in your dress.

  • Most brides have one, but not everyone likes to talk about it, and typically we won’t ask you about it. That said, please don’t be afraid to tell us. The last thing we want to do is to put you in a dress that you fall in love with and it be over your budget.

    Sometimes dresses are discontinued by the designers or we sell off our sample dresses. These can sometimes be a fantastic opportunity to bag yourself a bargain. The sample sales are continuously changing and won't show on the website, so please ask in store for current samples that we can sell off the peg.

  • Yes, children are welcome. However, we ask that they are monitored by yourselves at all times. We appreciate they may need snacks during your appointment, if this is the case we ask that they please eat clean snacks and are tidied up after including a good finger and face wipe to preserve property in store in case they come into contact with any goods. Any damages caused must be paid for.

  • The simple answer to this question is... bring those whose opinion matters to you the most!

    Whether this be your mum, dad, grandmother, best friend even your fiancé (yes, some ladies do this and that’s OK), what matters the most is when you're stood in that dress wanting that very important opinion - who will you turn to? The answer to that question is the person whom you should bring along with you.

    It’s fine to bring a bigger entourage but remember, a lot of people equals a lot of different opinions - you have to tune into the one that matters the most!

    We do have seating for up to 5 guests, so please let us know if you will be bringing along more, and we will try to accommodate you.

  • Sometimes brides feel scared saying 'yes' to their gown. You don’t necessarily need to try on 100’s of dresses to find ‘the one'.

    We especially look for signs within you and when you stand tall, have a big smile, sometimes a tear, feel absolutely amazing and you don’t want to take it off then it’s a really good sign!

    The question’s you have to ask yourself are:

    Do you love it?

    Do you feel good?

    Is it in budget?

    If the answer is YES, then go for it!

    As one famous bridal celebrity once said, 'when you met your fiancé did you say I’d better try a few more before I say yes to you!’ I doubt it!

  • We honestly don’t mind if you want to cancel or change your appointment, or if you find your dream gown at another store.

    What we kindly ask is that you let us know. The Ivory Edit is an appointment only store and we open up, especially for you and your exclusivity.

    We understand sometimes plans change and are more than happy to reschedule your appointment with a minimum 48 hours notice.

    Unfortunately our appointment fees are non-refundable.

  • Please note that all sales, including gowns and accessories, are final. As each piece is specially made to order for your wedding day, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. Similarly, sample sale items are sold as seen and are non-refundable.
